At last, another piece for the Women of Japanese Horror series! This is number eleven, believe it or not. When am I going to stop this madness?

Anyway, this is Izuko, the guardian of the gates to the afterlife and posthumous counselor to the newly murdered, who appears in the excellent manga "Skyhigh" (you can find the scanlations on Omanga.net). She's sort of like the Japanese equivalent of Death of the Endless, only less cheery and lacking the ankh. XD The fetus on the bottom right-hand corner is a clue to her past, but you'll have to read the comic to find out how. I'm mean that way.

Watercolor, pencil, gel pen.

You know what would be a good XII? Ganguro! Those are scary! *hides under blanket from the memory of those 30+ in a group*

Must remember to download this, if she remains this cool looking in the comic, booyah! Again and again I must tell you how much I love how you do that solid black hair, I remain envious. The background is something new, a different techinque with the watercolours. Well the look isn't just in the background, and it is a sweet change! Love the subtle dark in it, seeping into the light. And balanced against the ever present in your style gel pen useage and a pale face that would make Snape envious of its palor, flufflerwonderfuls! I can dig it (even for a second the baby looks like it is smoking).

*shudders* those ganguro...

Hahaha, great idea! I agree, ganguro scare the living tar out of me. Being in a shopping center elevator with a group of them last year was enough for me. XD

Definetly check out the manga - Takahashi Tsutomu draws hair so nice with his (I'm assuming) brush pen. He's awesome.

Thank you so much, Trilly!

Nope. Actually, I used white watercolor paint (which is opaque) for the clouds. I figured my poor gellies needed a rest. XD
:iconwhotookvaron:
But you used them on the triangle details? The clouds look good, though. ^_^

Yeah, I used them for the little details. :) Thanks!

Those clouds are so charming!! :D I love them! And the strange embryo is very eerie. Beautiful work!

Thanks very much! Man, everyone is commenting about the fetus. Is it really so odd? XD Hahaha!
