[n the North there's a lady, stunning and singular.
One look confounds a city; a touch dooms an empire.
Rather not wishing to know, the ruination that may follow,
rare beauty is here and now.]

More "House of Flying Daggers" fanart. This is my tribute to Jin and Mei, the first couple from any Wuxia film that I've really loved seeing. Too bad things didn't turn out that great for them. *shuts mouth before she can spoil anything more* This is based on one of my favorite scenes in the film, where Jin picks a big honkin' bouquet of autumn reeds and flowers for Mei. Gah, gotta love chivalry.
I don't like how their faces turned out. Jin looks a tad sleazy and Mei's nose looks odd because of the shading. Oh, well, at least their costumes turned out fine. I did it from memory.
Pencil, watercolor, pel pen, paint pen and Photoshop.
Oh please do spoil. I won't be seeing it for AGES and I wanna know the story behind the picture. Pleeease?
I think his face is ace, and I LOVE the hair. The two hats (especially his) are great, and the folds of the clothes and the texture. I really love the way you did the sky, too.
My quickie summary: End of Tang Dynasty (long time ago). Secret society of assassins called "House of Flying Daggers". Two police officers (Jin and Leo) hatch plan to defeat said society by tricking their new leader (Mei), but the thing is, they're both in love with her, and nothing's as it seems. Plus Leo's a jerk. Lots of swordplay, daggers going "WHOOSH!" and tragedy worthy of Shakespeare. And Jin's bloody hot. XD
This is beautiful. I will forever envy your watercoloring. I mean, just look at those folds in the clothing... *o* The background is magical, and the composition is very sweet. You did a wonderful job.
