Dead as though she may be, Toshio still loves his mommy.
Third in my "Women of Japanese Horror" series. Since the memory of the *shudders* American remake of "Ju-on" or "The Grudge" is still fresh in many people's minds, I really don't need to explain the story behind Kayako. Let's just say that I won't be strolling into any abandoned suburban houses in Tokyo anytime soon.
Before you complain to me about the messiness of this piece, let me explain that it's meant to look (at least in the top half) like one of Toshio's childish scribbles. I didn't have crayon, so I used oil pastel, but hopefully it turned out looking the same. The stick-doodle guy on the far right is Takeo, Kayako's crazy husband (stupid jealous jerk), the floating stick in the middle is Toshio (poor kid), and that's Kayako's face peering out of the window. The text reads (from left to right) "Ju-on" and "Mama".
Watercolor, oil pastels, gel pen, paint pen and Photoshop (desat tool in some places).
So far i'd have to say that this is my favorite out of all of your "Women in Japanese Horror" series.
There seems to be so much going on, and everything has a reason for being there.
Great job.

For some reason it reminds of the Pearl Jam song "Jeremy."
