This turned out very gaudy, if you ask me. I bought a brand-new tube of red watercolor and had a huge urge to use it. I think the background turned out bolder than Haruko, who's supposed to be the main focus of the piece. Still, it's still kind of appropriate, given that FLCL itself is bloody crazy and bright and noisy. XD And is the cat's name Muyo? I forget.

Haruko owns us all. We just don't know it yet.

gaudy = vibrant
appropriate = ridiculously appropriate
we just don't know it yet = everyone except for the cool people don't know it yet :D

Wicked work man - I really like it and I love Haruko's pose

(p.s. - I am most definetly a part of the 'cool people' club... I guess you can be in it too....)

Thanks, I'm really happy you like it. Maybe I'm just not used to using hot/warm colors in my work enough. I'm more partial to blues and greens. ^^;

this is probably the best flcl fanart i've seen yet. amazing. colors are amazing despite what you say... and it's still easy to tell that haruko is the focus even with all that stuff going on behind her. this is really just damn cool. me loves much.

This is awesome. A bit closer to the vibrant and style we used to see in your paintings. Some of your new stuff has been lacking that vibrance and style. This makes up for it. Good for you. Go get yourself a cookie to celebrate.

haha, ya I can identify with being freaked out as using new and different stuff in your work :o But it does work, trust me - it's got this excited doodle/graffiti look to it. It's very niftay.
