Artist's Comments

Herr God, Herr Lucifer
Beware, beware

Out of the ash
I rise with my red hair

And I eat men like air.

- Sylvia Plath, Lady Lazarus

When I am through with you,
There won't be anything left.

- The VLA
---

This took months to complete, but then again, the feelings that fueled me to paint it took a long for me to make sense of and turn into something constructive. Not to worry, I'm okay, I just needed to paint this into order to help make myself feel okay.

I honestly don't know if this painting will get me in trouble or not if it's seen by some, but those of them who know why I painted it will hopefully understand.

Watercolors, pencils, pastels, copics

Oh mistress of the watercolor! You again, as always, manage to put more detail than I can ever believe is possible into a crazy ass what the hell is going on piece of mind fuck.

I never appreciate your art as much as it deserves because it confuses me so. But if you are going to find inspiration in things like Sylvia Plath or Japanese horror I guess it's to be expected ;P

Thanks so much, Stephie! Believe me, there were quite a few times when I just raised my hands and shouted, "Argh, I'll never get all these details in! When will it END!?" Glad it all paid off. XD

Perfection (as always). Seems very theraputic. And I always love how I can find interesting little details tucked away in the corners. (In this case, I'm going crazy over the bicycle.) I wish I could project my artistic thoughts with half the skill that you do.

And as the smallest aside, I have to say that I adore the red hair. It reminds me of something that I sketched that when I was about fourteen, and yours is considerably more accurate.

Amidst all the above blah blah blah is when I was getting to: it's great. Your work inspires others to greatness. Keep it up.

"Some people are like slinkies; they're basically good for nothing, but it makes you smile when you push them down a flight of stairs."
Man, I gotta find me some slinkies!
:iconmodestfox:
Maybe you should apply your penchant for ridiculous amounts of detail to a Doctor Who piece *nods* Just watched the second of the five specials this season will be made of.

Lovely, like always. I love the splotches on the redhead's skin and face, for some strange reason. The details on the ravens and their wings is really nice and that huge mass of blackness makes all that red hair almost glow. Good job. My only little beef is that it took me a moment to realize the redhead is holding a platter and that his arm is turned toward the viewer. Everything gets a little murky right around there, so it's hard to tell. But other than that, great job!

There isn't enough pot in the United States to provide it to 98% of American teens, you fucking retards.

I really don`t know what might have inspired this piece, but all I can tell you is that it`s amazing. The level of little details, I just can`t let my eyes in a piece and not find new images and things I missed the first time I looked- your art is really an amazing thing to enjoy!

You wanted a critique on this... but man, I just can't find anything to critique. Seriously amazing piece of work here. I'm so envious. All of the detail in the ravens is just astonishing. The brightness of the red also leads quite an amazing bit of contrast to the rest.

Even the depths of Death and Destruction are known by the Lord. How much more does he know the human heart.

Me, too! I loved every minute of it, even the Christina/Doctor smooch, although I dislike Christina quite a bit. :P

By "piece," are you referring to the Gurren Lagann crossover-thingy?
:iconmodestfox:
I was just thinking any thing Doctor Who.... but the Gurren Lagann crossover thing would be interesting too.

I liked Cristina!
